Mit der Ausstellung „Brave New World“ richtet SCHAUM den Blick auf die Zukunft – auf technische Utopien und gesellschaftliche Umbrüche, auf Hoffnungen, Ängste und die Frage, wie wir bereits heute leben und morgen leben werden. Zwischen Skulptur, Objekt, Fotografie und Installation entsteht ein vielschichtiges Bild unserer Gegenwart. Der Titel verweist auf Aldous Huxleys berühmten Roman von 1932, dient jedoch weniger als Illustration denn als dystopischer Ausgangspunkt für künstlerisch-kritische Reflexionen über Fortschritt, Kontrolle, Freiheit und die menschliche Gestaltungskraft.

With the exhibition ‘Brave New World’, SCHAUM turns its attention to our future – to technological utopias and social upheavals, to hopes, fears and the question of how we live today and how we will live tomorrow. Spanning sculpture, objects, photography and installation, a multi-layered picture of our present emerges. The title refers to Aldous Huxley’s famous 1932 novel, but serves less as an illustration than as a dystopian starting point for artistic and critical reflections on progress, control, freedom and human creativity.
